Each year, our club takes great pride in recognising the remarkable individuals who go above and beyond, contributing not only to the success of our teams but also to the heart and spirit of our netball community. Our perpetual award winners represent the best of what our club stands for — Honesty, Aspire, Work Hard, Kindness and Strength. These awards honour those who have dedicated countless hours to volunteering and supporting others, ensuring that our players, families and club continues to thrive.

Award Descriptions
Club Champion (Junior/ Senior):
The Club Champion Award is given to a player who has shown commitment & service within Sandgate Hawks Netball Club. This person will have made a significant contribution to the Club both on and off the court. This person is a positive role model for all player’s, someone who demonstrates the Club Values (Honesty, Aspire, Work-hard, Kindness and Strength) through their words and actions throughout the season.
Coach of the Year:
The Coach of the Year Award will go to the coach who demonstrates a positive, enthusiastic and supportive coaching style, focusing on clear communication and constructive criticism. Through their words and actions throughout the season, this coach consistently gets the best out of their players. This coach demonstrates the Club Values (Honesty, Aspire, Work-hard, Kindness and Strength) through their coaching and promotes these values to their players.
Umpire of the Year:
This Umpire of the Year Award is given to the umpire who has shown commitment, service and achievement as an umpire within Sandgate Hawks Netball Club. This umpire will present a positive image, demonstrate the Club Values (Honesty, Aspire, Work- hard, Kindness and Strength) along with fair and sportsmanlike decision making. This umpire will demonstrate reliability and provide a significant contribution to the development of our younger umpires along with their peers.
Volunteer of the Year:
The Volunteer of the Year Award is given to a volunteer that has made a meaningful contribution to volunteering within Sandgate Hawks Netball Club. This person will demonstrate commitment, puts in the effort, goes above and beyond what is ordinarily expected, is ready and willing to help out at any time, to get things done. This volunteer will demonstrate the Club Values (Honesty, Aspire, Work-hard, Kindness and Strength) and shows great respect for the club and sport of Netball.
For the Love of the Game:
This Award is given to a player who embodies the true power of team sports. This person understands that being part of a team is a gift. This gift is not just in what you receive, but instead it is what you give to others. Understanding that a team is a collection of shared experiences and that you ‘show up’ for those experiences and influence and enrich the lives of others through these moments. This person embodies the Club Values (Honesty, Aspire, Work-hard, Kindness and Strength) through their words and actions.
